TIP: Memorandum Decisions and Summary Orders are not published in the Maine Reporter or on the Judicial Department website. A memorandum of decision decides a case and governs any future proceedings in that case, but it does not establish precedent for any other cases. TIP: Only select Maine Superior Court decisions are distributed to specific public and commercial vendors. Laws, Resolves or municipal ordinances using the online Shepard's version.

TIP: Shepard's citations are collected by human beings who read the decisions. Keycite citations are culled from a software program. Both databases have advantages and disadvantages.
